Here are some things to think about as we fast today:
- Eat no solid food at all today. When you feel hungry, drink some water, juice or make a smoothie by blending some greens, fruit and juice.
- Who is stronger? You ... or that small piece of food?
- When you feel hungry, count the hours remaining until bedtime. You can eat when you wake up, no matter how early that is.
- How can you busy yourself today? Sew, knit, work a puzzle, play or listen to music, read a book, watch movies (not TV), lay out in the sun, ... what?
- If you lived in a country with a lack of food, you may only get to eat every few days. This fast will only last for one day!
- How will you reward yourself for making it through this day without eating? A special food treat? Dinner out? Buy yourself something special? A movie or theatre show? What?
